Thumbnails

YouTube thumbnails built from the patterns that actually won clicks on channels like ours, ranked best first — start with one of these instead of guessing. Black & white is still the Free Style series; RIFF numbered batches live in the RIFF factory.

Face + yellow power word
Pattern 2 · the niche default. Face on one side, a 3-word hook with ONE word in a yellow box, keyboard along the bottom. The most repeated winner across every peer channel.
Hands + THIS
Pattern 3 · hands on the keys, no face. Full-bleed photo (never cut hands out — it severs the forearms), dark scrim, one yellow command in the empty half.
STOP / don't do this
Pattern 4 · the mistake video. Solid red field, white 4–6 word command starting STOP, stern face. A massive evergreen shape that peers still run today.
Numbered ladder
Pattern 5 · '5 passing chords', '3 grooves'. The number must be GIANT — the title alone never carries it. Direct match to NSM's proven numbered titles.
Mystery chord path
Pattern 6 · G → ? → C. Chord symbols with a hole beat a full staff for click speed — this is the modern before/after for theory, and NSM's most common lesson shape.
Chord tree — one note, every chord
NSM's own teaching object on the Pattern 6 curiosity frame: one melody note branching up to all six triads that contain it. Nobody else in the niche can draw this.
Colour-coded keys
Pattern 7 · no face. A real two-octave keyboard fills the frame with the lesson's notes lit, one secret hook above. This is Melanie's breakout DNA for pattern lessons.
Free Style · black & white
The Free Style series, and black & white is what marks it. Tuned to the playbook: one 4-word hook, one accent (white), keys still visible.
